We're gearing up to launch the Achievements and Badges update in Terravela, designed to reward users for both local and global exploration!
Badges will recognize everything from visiting the greatest cities in the world to exploring your local park. Achievements will track your journey—from your first 100 miles to visiting all 7 Wonders of the World.
This update is all about making travel more rewarding, engaging, and fun!

We're rolling out the Terravela badges update in California, Texas, Florida, and Arizona first, focusing on refining the system before expanding nationwide.
For California, travelers can earn the "Golden State Adventurer" badge just by stepping within the state's borders. Other iconic achievements include:
"Golden Gate Keeper" – Honoring those who visit the Golden Gate Bridge.
"Escape Artist" – For those who explore the legendary Alcatraz Island.
"Sunset Surf Rider" – Celebrating surfers who catch a wave at sunset along the California coast.
This focused approach allows us to perfect the experience before expanding achievements to more locations.
The achievements are designed to make travel more engaging with a mix of community-based challenges, personal milestones, and long-distance achievements.
Community Achievements bring travelers together, with "To the Moon" as the biggest challenge—collectively reaching 238,000 miles, the distance to the Moon.
Self-Accomplishments reward personal progress, from your first 100 miles ("Traveler’s First Step") to hiking your first mountain range ("Mountain Ranger").
Far-Travel Achievements recognize those who push their limits across states and countries.
For the ultimate explorers, the Completest Challenge Achievements offer the highest honors—rewarding those who fully explore a state, visiting all major theme parks, beaches, national parks, and more. These will set apart the true travel legends!
